S O L A R A (intro)

She was as black as night. He, dressed in pale brown and rich amber speckles. She was quiet, reserved and had a temper quick to flame. He was outgoing, excitable and arrogant. They both had the delicate trademark gait of their kind, tails swinging low behind them and paws leaving soft marks behind them in the soil. Their names were apt. Nightingale was the females name; Sparrow, the male. (c)

Sparrow was a dusty cinnamon and spotted in lighter tawny. Across his shoulder blades, two wing-like markings of khaki spread downward toward his pale blonde belly. Alert chocolate eyes surveyed the surroundings with what was never-ending curiosity. His paler muzzle was dotted with brown, one large one across his left eye. His playful nature was not mirrored by his sister. (c)

Nightingale was pitch black, lankier where her brother was thick. Redder fur rippled along her neck and spread in identical markings as her brother. Her dark eyes shone mahogany in the sieved sunlight as she walked shoulder-to-shoulder with her bulky brother. One foot, the rear right, was sheathed in white and dusted lightly with gold. solara is ironically, a dark. she's a fighter, it's what she does. she is a spitfire girl, she can dish out words, has a sharp tongue, but is not necessarily witty. she wants to prove she's better than anyone else, which is part of the reason she challenges so many other horses. she brushes off other mares as silly creatures because they don't look to prove themselves. to her, life is all about showing others that she is something more, and the only way she knows how to do that is by fighting others. in a lot of ways, she fights because of her insecurities about herself, and her self-doubts that she is anything other than just a fighter.
